MARK W. TODD

ARCHITECT/OWNER

Texas Registration No. 12180
Texas A&M University - B.E.D. 1979
Master of Architecture - 1981

For nearly three decades, Mark W. Todd has focused his professional career around architecture, planning and construction. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he teamed with two development companies and expanded his skills in project management, land planning and design. From that point, he recognized a unique opportunity and became affiliated with F.D. Freemen Associates and Charles Pollard Architects & Associates as a project architect for five years. Mark has been in private practice since 1986, including a three-year partnership with Bueker & Todd Architects, Inc. In 1995 he made a natural transition and founded his namesake firm in The Woodlands, Texas.

Mark’s background in residential architecture includes homes from 2,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet that can be found in Montgomery and Harris Counties and other surrounding areas. Further broadening the scope of Mark’s innovative services is a diverse background in commercial projects including shopping centers, correctional facilities, libraries, restaurants and office buildings. He has also planned education and religious campuses and offered his services on building renovations, educational/classroom buildings and athletic facilities.

THE MARK W. TODD DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

While there’s certainly no formula when designing a successful project, Mark W. Todd Architects, Inc. has developed and refined a set of principles that guides each project.

Listen and Focus

After years of developing a practice, we understand that our clients have unique and special desires for the project they are undertaking. No matter the size, Mark W. Todd Architects, Inc. believes it is essential to listen and focus during these formative first interactions with the client. This is the “big picture” stage where communication between the architect and client contributes to the creation of an exciting and successful project.

Design and Create

During this stage, ideas will be pushed, pulled, evaluated, tweaked, organized—and occasionally turned upside down! Though mindful of the client’s needs, the design team also guides the client toward inventive and original solutions that will contribute to the design. Although it begins in a fluid and flexible stage, soon the project will become a functioning design that can be visualized and budgeted.

Concentrate and Perform

Once the design work is completed, construction documents are formalized and translated into AutoCAD format so that construction can begin. Great care is taken by our experienced production team to make sure the plans are ready for the construction and permitting process—they are also reviewed for accuracy by a senior staff member.
