The trend of indoor outdoor living continues into 2019. The idea of bringing the outdoors in and incorporating the creature comforts of interior living spaces in our outdoor environments will continue to appear in the coming year.
This is a home we designed that accomplishes a harmonious blend of indoor/outdoor living. The home owners wanted to maximize the outdoor living however, dealing with Texas heat, this can sometimes be a challenge. In the back we put in a glass accordion door leading to the patio and then a glass garage style door from the patio leading to the pool.
The outdoor living area offers comfortable sitting, dinning, and grilling area. Accordion glass doors separate the indoor and outdoor living area. The homeowners are able to open all doors for a large gathering. This back yard is so inviting I can completely take in all the outdoor space it has to offer. Here are some tips on creating an inviting indoor/outdoor space:
1. Place comfortable/durable furniture outside either on your patio or under a pergola.
2. Use neutral color scheme to keep a subtle look, bright pillows can be added for a pop of color
3. Add a fire element for light in the evening and extra visual appeal.
